The Pilot: Name:                    Walter Kampsmann Born:                      17.09.1960 Profession:              Flightinstructor Flightime:                20.000 + Walter Kampsmann started aerobatics flying in 1988.  His first aircraft was an American Great Lakes biplane for the German Championship in the Eifel region.  At his first attempt he won in the beginners’ class of the competition.  In following years he competed in the intermediate class.  On winning the competition with first place, he joined the German national team in 1990.

His first competition in the “Unlimited” class was in the 1990 World Championships in Switzerland, achieving a commendable midfield place out of 84 competitors. His first attempt in this class at the German championship in 1991 was a win with the title of “German Master”.  In the same year he achieved third place in the team standings at the European Championship.
